2021 - 2023
I chose to study Cybersecurity at the University of Bahrain because of my passion for the field and a desire to build a strong academic foundation. I wanted to deepen my theoretical knowledge to complement my practical experience and to advance my professional career. I graduated with First-Class Honours and published two academic papers. My thesis, titled “Zero-day Attacks Detection Using a Threat Hunting Intelligence Approach,” explored methods for proactively identifying zero-day attacks and improving detection through threat-hunting techniques.
2015 - 2020
I chose Information and Communication Technology as my bachelor’s degree major because I was fascinated by how networks, systems, and software enable communication and solve real-world problems. The major gave me a strong foundation in networking and systems administration, which prepared me for a career in cybersecurity. For my in-house project, I developed a multi-security-solutions lab that included Cisco ISE and ASA, allowing me to design and test access control, network segmentation, and firewall policies in a realistic environment.
​Professional Certificates
I pursued the OffSec Certified Professional (OSCP) certification to validate and sharpen my hands-on offensive security skills. The course forced me to apply real-world penetration testing techniques in a controlled lab environment, improving my skills in network and host exploitation, privilege escalation, and post-exploitation. Earning the OSCP strengthened my problem-solving under pressure, deepened my practical knowledge of attack methodologies and tools, and gave me a widely recognized credential that demonstrates my ability to perform thorough, methodical security assessments.
I pursued the Certified Data Privacy Solutions Engineer (CDPSE) certification to gain specialized expertise in designing and implementing privacy solutions that align with legal, regulatory, and business requirements. Preparing for CDPSE deepened my understanding of privacy governance, privacy requirements and technical implementation, and the integration of privacy controls into system development lifecycles. Earning the certification strengthened my ability to translate privacy requirements into practical technical solutions, conduct Data Protection Impact Assessments, and collaborate effectively with engineering, legal, and product teams to embed privacy-by-design across systems and services.
I pursued the Practical Network Penetration Tester (PNPT) certification to validate and refine my real-world network attack and assessment skills. Preparing for the PNPT sharpened my ability to conduct end-to-end network-based penetration tests, including reconnaissance, exploitation, lateral movement, privilege escalation, and post-exploitation operations. The hands-on, scenario-driven format improved my technical reporting, evidence collection, and remediation recommendation skills. Earning the PNPT demonstrated my capability to perform practical, methodical network security assessments and to deliver actionable findings to technical teams.
Administering BIG-IP & Configuring BIG-IP® Local Traffic Manager™ (LTM)
I completed the "Administering BIG-IP & Configuring BIG-IP® Local Traffic Manager™ (LTM)" course to gain practical expertise in F5 BIG-IP LTM administration and traffic management. The course deepened my knowledge of load balancing, virtual servers, pools, profiles, and persistence methods, as well as BIG-IP configuration, high availability, and basic troubleshooting. Completing the training improved my ability to design and implement robust application delivery and traffic management solutions, optimize application availability and performance, and work confidently with network and DevOps teams to deploy and maintain BIG-IP LTM in production environments.
I pursued the Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) certification to broaden and formalize my understanding of information security from a managerial and architectural perspective. Studying for CISSP deepened my knowledge across the eight domains of the (ISC)² Common Body of Knowledge, including security and risk management, asset security, security architecture and engineering, and security operations—which helped me connect technical skills to governance, risk, and compliance requirements. Achieving CISSP strengthened my ability to design and evaluate comprehensive security programs, communicate with senior leadership, and apply best practices for policy, risk assessment, and incident response across an organization.
I pursued the Certified Payment Industry Security Implementer (CPISI) certification to develop focused expertise in securing payment card environments and payment processing systems. Preparing for CPISI expanded my knowledge of PCI DSS requirements, payment technologies, secure network and application architectures, and controls for protecting cardholder data. Achieving this certification improved my ability to design and implement compliant security controls, perform gap analyses and remediation planning, and work with payment processors and stakeholders to reduce fraud and compliance risk across payment ecosystems.
Certified Network Associate Routing & Switching
I pursued the Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) Routing & Switching certification to build a solid foundation in networking fundamentals and practical skills. Preparing for the CCNA strengthened my understanding of IP addressing and subnetting, routing and switching protocols, VLANs, inter-VLAN routing, and basic network security and troubleshooting. Earning this certification improved my ability to design, configure, and maintain small-to-medium sized networks, diagnose common network issues, and communicate effectively with network engineering teams.
